Even though I have never seen the movie, I didn't really needed the knowledge. I flew through the chapters and I really think the shorter chapters make this book really easy to digest. She was so strong and independent, but I liked seeing her learn to accept help. Her relationship with Naveen was sweet even though she tried not to enable it. I also liked seeing more of Lottie and how passionate she was. She was a great friend to Tiana, and I liked their dynamic. So when an opportunity to travel to Never Land via pirate ship presents itself, Wendy makes a deal with the devil. But Never Land isn't quite the place she imagined it would be. This book is the best Disney YA book I have read! I really enjoyed this story about Tiana, and I thought the characters were so well flushed out and developed. Farah Rochon really outdid herself with this one! This is ALSO my favorite Farah Rochon book I've read!

As the 13th installment of the “Twisted Tale” series, “Almost There” by Farrah Rochon is a retelling of “The Princess and the Frog” (itself a retelling of the Grimm fairy tale “ The Frog Prince”).
